If you have multiple computers in your LAN that you want to simultaneously play with other computers on the internet (for example, a three-player game where two computers are in your LAN and one is outside), then you must make sure that the network game on the outside computer is completely started before joining it from your LAN computers. Do NOT use internet multiplayer to play LAN games, because the computers in your LAN won't be able to connect to each other (depending on your network configuration this might actually work, but it normally doesn't). However, using this setting you may find that your connection isn't as fast as you'd like (that is, your ping is too high), reduce this setting to medium or low. The recommended setting (and, starting with v3.30, the default) is long. Climb into your spaceship and fight the space chickens to protect your planet from their sharp beaks and put an end to their intimidating clucking.
